Looks like the manufacturers’ product cycles are coming to a head. After the Chevrolet Cruze, comes the Hyundai Elantra to spice up your choices among the compact segment. The fresh redesign follows the Sonata’s design language but is not as over the top. Its also distinct enough to seperate itself from its stablemate, the Kia Forte.

Fresh off the introduction of the Tucson, the Hyundai-Kia group is now set to introduce its stablemate: the all-new 2011 Kia Sportage.

Well, the BMW X6 has spawned a number of new entrants into the Sports Utility Coupe or whatever market. The market’s (is there really one?) newest baby is the Hyundai ix35. While its not beneath the Koreans to ape even the name from the X6, they’ll go about it in a cheaper and more economical (for us) way. The ix35 will be their replacement for the really-getting-old Tucson and battle it out with the CR-Vs and RAV4s.04/11/2009

Well, its no surprise that the first quarter of 2009 was an ugly one from a sales point of view. Wards just released it Q1 vehicle sales for North America and overall was down 38% compared to Q1 of 2008. Not all was doom and gloom though, there were some individual models that actually saw a sales spike. Proof that there is still a demand of cars. The biggest surprise? The Kia Amanti saw a threefold increase in car sales. I am not sure what is really going on in the US, but when the Kia Amanti sees a sales spike something seems amiss. (more…)
