Looks like the manufacturers’ product cycles are coming to a head. After the Chevrolet Cruze, comes the Hyundai Elantra to spice up your choices among the compact segment. The fresh redesign follows the Sonata’s design language but is not as over the top. Its also distinct enough to seperate itself from its stablemate, the Kia Forte.

2011 Kia Sportage

Fresh off the introduction of the Tucson, the Hyundai-Kia group is now set to introduce its stablemate: the all-new 2011 Kia Sportage.

If it looks like an AudiĀ Q7, don’t be surprised…it was penned by the former chief designer of the Audi-VW group, Peter Schreyer. It actually looks much better than the curvy and busy Tucson. (more…)

Biggest gainer for Q1 2009 (www.kia.com)

Well, its no surprise that the first quarter of 2009 was an ugly one from a sales point of view. Wards just released it Q1 vehicle sales for North America and overall was down 38% compared to Q1 of 2008. Not all was doom and gloom though, there were some individual models that actually saw a sales spike. Proof that there is still a demand of cars. The biggest surprise? The Kia Amanti saw a threefold increase in car sales. I am not sure what is really going on in the US, but when the Kia Amanti sees a sales spike something seems amiss. (more…)
